As the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, continues to spread, the effects are beginning to be seen in the workplace. The WHO has recommended keeping a distance from other people and avoiding travel, and some businesses have gone as far as to institute a work-at-home policy for the time being. As containment measures continue to ramp up around the world, you may be wondering how you can continue to keep up your work productivity from home. In terms of Bluebeam training, there is a simple and safe solution: take a virtual training course.

All of Taradigm’s Bluebeam Revu training courses are offered virtually, allowing you and your team to learn both the essentials and advanced features of the program as you would in an on-site course. Utilizing the Cisco Webex platform, these training courses place you in ‘virtual classroom;’ all you need is a laptop that can run Bluebeam Revu 2018 or 2019, and an internet connection to be a student.

In this virtual classroom, students are taught by a Bluebeam Certified Instructor, who runs the class exactly the same as they would an onsite course. The courses are divided into several lessons with two fifteen minute breaks and an hour lunch break scheduled throughout the day. Each lesson is led by the instructor via screen sharing, who lectures while demonstrating, allowing students to watch and listen to the instructor work directly within Bluebeam Revu. After each lesson, students are given time to practice what the instructor has demonstrated to re-enforce the material covered. Students are provided with all of the documents they need, from the activity files to the files that the instructor uses during the demonstration.

One concern prospective students may have for taking a virtual class is whether they will get the same attention they would in a live class. During Taradigm’s Bluebeam Revu virtual training courses, the instructor encourages class participation through group exercises and time for Q&A after each lesson and at the conclusion of the class. Students call into a direct line with the instructor, allowing them to ask questions during the allotted Q&A time, and are muted during the lectures to ensure every student can hear the instructor. While students are muted, they can send a private message to the instructor using the Webex chat function. Either way, all questions will be addressed immediately by the instructor, who will make sure that students completely understand each topic before moving on to the next lesson.

Generally the main advantage to taking a virtual class is cutting out travel time and expenses. This is still applicable, but with many companies mandating employees to work at home to avoid Covid-19 transmission, training virtually is one of only a handful of training options. Students of virtual courses receive the same standards of training as a live class, with the same attention, they avoid travel time and costs, and most importantly, stay safe and healthy.
