Bluebeam Revu Estimating Tools Webinar 12/06/2018
During this session we discussed estimating tools in Bluebeam Revu 2018, including, but not limited, to page calibration, measurement tools, dynamic fill, tool sets and legends, and Quantity Link.
We had a few questions come up during this session, the first was in regards to Quantity Link, which is the plugin that enables Revu to work with Excel, and which edition of Revu it comes with. Quantity Link is only available with Bluebeam Revu eXtreme edition.
Another question we had was in regards to Legends and if they can keep track of tools used on the page. Since a Legend is created from a tool set, it will keep track of the tools used in that tool set. If you use tools from another tool set, you will need to create a separate legend to keep track of those tools. Additionally, Revu comes with a count tool, which can be used to track anything on the page.
As part of this session, we built an estimating tools tool kit for anyone new to Revu or new to estimating in Revu, Here is the link to download the tool kit.
Bluebeam Revu Licensing Management and Options 9/20/2018
During this session we discussed Bluebeam’s licensing model, updates, upgrades, cross-grades, support co-termination, enterprise licensing, informal auditing and more!
A question that came up, and is a common question in general, is if you can cross-grade / upgrade ‘down’ (from CAD to Standard edition for example). While you can and it doesn’t cost anything, we do not recommend ‘downgrading’ because there is no way to get any kind of credit back, and the software is the same for each edition (the features in eXtreme for example exist in standard, they are just ‘turned off,’ and will be greyed out for Standard users).
