Taradigm is pleased to introduce our new 2 hour Primavera P6 classes. These classes are designed for those who wish to gain a thorough understanding of P6 but don’t have time for a full 8 hour class. Our 2 hour classes are led by our experienced P6 trainers and are taught live via Zoom. You are not required to purchase Primavera P6 software to take a class and you can take them from anywhere with an internet and remote desktop connection. Each 2 hour class module covers a different subject in P6. We recommend that you take these classes sequentially to gain the best understanding of the software, but they can also be taken as stand alone classes to fill in gaps in your P6 knowledge. We are offering the following Primavera P6 2 hour course modules:
Administrative Tools (P6 For Administrative Teams)
This module shows your application administrator how to set up the program for collaboration. Administrators will learn how to set up new users and security profiles, create an Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS), and how to identify the responsibilities of team members within the OBS. By the end of this course, you will have a P6 setup where all collaborators are able to access the program and work with projects as needed.

Basic Project Creation
This module goes over everything you need to know to start performing CPM scheduling. You will learn how to use the New Project Wizard to create a new project, create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), add activities, and use the scheduling tool to run a forward and backward pass through your project schedule. By the end of this course, you will have all the knowledge required to create a functional schedule to track all of your project’s work, along with tips and tricks to do it as efficiently as possible.

Performing Status Updates
This module teaches you how to perform a standard status update in Primavera P6. You will learn how to use Primavera P6’s progress spotlight tool to identify activities and update their statuses. You will also understand how the data date works, and how to move it forwards to match the update dates. You will learn how to create baselines to save the project schedule as a copy, and how to use the Schedule Comparison tool to compare baseline dates with actual project dates. At the end of this module, you will know how to perform status updates, and how to use the tools Primavera P6 provides to do so.

Interface Customization & Layouts
This module teaches you how to customize the P6 interface configuration using layouts. You will learn how to customize the toolbars and tools that display data, use the User Preferences window to adjust time/unit displays, use the View and Layout menus to adjust layout configurations, and how to share your custom layout configurations. At the end of this module, you will feel comfortable customizing your toolbars and tools using layouts.

Resource & Cost Loading
This module teaches you how to perform basic and advanced cost loading within Primavera P6 using resources, roles, and expenses. Cost loading helps project managers forecast and track their project’s budget. You will also learn how to create a layout for a cost loaded view, use resource curves and future bucket planning to track distributions of work, and analyze the schedule’s data with spreadsheets and graphs on the Resource Usage Spreadsheet and Profile. By the end of this course, you will have mastered cost resource and cost loading of your schedule which will allow you to track your budget and resource usage throughout your project.

Enterprise-Level Setup
This module first teaches you how to set up your enterprise through the creation of an Enterprise Project Structure. Your Enterprise Project Structure can be used to organize projects into categories. You will also learn how to create a variety of global data types for your enterprise including custom work calendars, codes, user-defined fields, resources, and roles. Global data can be applied to any project within the database. At the end of this lesson, you will know how to set up your enterprise and how to customize it with Global data.

Dealing with Schedule Delays
This module teaches you how to manage issues that could lead to work delays such as unexpected weather conditions, delivery delays, and labor strikes. In Primavera P6, you can resolve these delays using Risks, Issues, and Thresholds. This module teaches you how to identify risks using the Risks tool, track issues using the Issues tool and create thresholds to identify schedule issues using Thresholds. After you have identified risks and issues, you will learn how to use the Suspend & Resume fields to track delays, and perform Time Impact Analysis using fragnets. By the end of this module, you will be able to identify and track issues and risks and qualify them to send to stakeholders.

Managing Schedule Errors
This module shows you how to manage and correct a wide variety of common scheduling errors including negative float, negative lag, and out-of sequence activities. The module starts off by looking at Primavera P6’s schedule Log File. The Schedule Log File will help you identify all errors that should be corrected before finishing the baseline schedule. By the end of this lesson, you will understand the consequences of negative float, negative lag and out-of sequence activities— and be able to identify and mitigate these errors to your schedule.

Sharing Project Data
This module covers the three main ways to share your project’s data: exporting, printing and reporting. You will learn to export P6 files to a variety of file types, import projects into your database, set up and save print settings, and create and save user-defined reports. You learn how to create your custom user-defined reports using the New Report Wizard, and run it on multiple project schedules. By the end of this module, you will know how to share your project’s data in the most desirable and concise format possible.
