Bluebeam Revu is well known for its PDF editing, markup and collaboration tools. But did you know that the program also has an integrated method for searching the web? Bluebeam Revu’s WebTab tool lets you access and browse the internet from within the application. This can be especially useful when working with linked documents or project dashboards. Instead of having to leave the program to access these links, Revu lets you access them seamlessly.

This article will highlight how to access and use the WebTab in Bluebeam Revu. The following examples are from Bluebeam Revu 20 eXtreme edition. However, these capabilities are available within all versions of Bluebeam Revu.

Using WebTab with Hyperlinks

In Bluebeam Revu, you can add hyperlinks to PDFs to jump to specific pages, projects, or even websites. To access a linked website from a PDF within Revu, simply click on the link. Revu’s WebTab will automatically open to the linked website.

Instead of having to open up an internet browser, Revu lets you access the website immediately. Now, you can continue working without having to jump between applications.

Opening WebTab Manually

Even without hyperlinks, you can still open the WebTab in Bluebeam Revu. To open a new WebTab, select Window > WebTab, or press CTRL + T on the keyboard. The primary home page will open, which is set to the Bluebeam website by default.

WebTab will work like any other internet browser. To navigate to a specific website, type a URL in the address bar and press ENTER on your keyboard.

Like most internet browsers, Revu’s WebTab features Forward, Backward, and Refresh buttons. There is also a Favorites option, allowing you to add the current webpage to a list for easy re-access. 

Summary

In Bluebeam Revu, you can access an internet browser within the program using the WebTab tool. With WebTab, you can quickly access URLs attached to PDFs via hyperlinks. By just clicking the link, Revu will open a browser tab to the desired location – without requiring you to leave the program. Even without hyperlinks, you can still use this tool. Using the Window menu or the shortcut of CTRL+T, you can browse the web from within the program. Rather than having to switch applications, you can now perform all your work seamlessly within Bluebeam Revu.
