At the end of October Bluebeam released Revu 2019, which includes a new rendering engine capable of increasing panning and zooming speed by up to 6 times, improved takeoff functionality, and a new Revu configuration tool for handling enterprise deployments. If you have an older version of Revu and want to upgrade to version 2019, there are a few different options to consider. First, if you have an active annual maintenance subscription or an open license, or you purchased version 2018 within 30 days of the release of 2019, you can upgrade for free, which I’ll go over in a minute. If you have an older version of Revu but don’t have an active annual maintenance subscription, you will need to purchase an upgrade, which we would be happy to assist with.
If you have active maintenance or have purchased an upgrade, you can upgrade Revu through the application itself by going to help on the menu bar, and selecting ‘check for updates,’ which will launch and upgrade page in Revu’s native browser.

In this example I am using Revu eXtreme version 2018, and since this is an open license the product upgrade page says I am eligible for a free upgrade.

By clicking the free upgrade option, I can enter my serial number, product key, and primary contact email address associated with the license purchase which will confirm my eligibility. On this page I also have the option of purchasing an upgrade.

After entering the required information and selecting ‘check eligibility,’ if I am eligible Bluebeam will send the primary contact a new serial number and product key and the page will prompt the user to download version 2019 (you have to download and install the new version, the new serial number and product key will not work in the older version of Revu).
After you receive your license information and have downloaded the Revu installer, select ‘BbRevu2019.exe.’

In the dialogue box select the appropriate language and select ‘Next.’

The next step will ask if you would like to remove older versions of Revu and install 2019 or install 2019 side-by-side with your older versions. In order to stay in compliance we recommend removing older versions of Revu at this time, although you are permitted to do a side-by-side installation to make the transition as smooth as possible. Either way, be sure to unregister older versions of Revu as soon as you are able, and preferably during the installation process to mitigate any licensing issues.

After installing the software, the next step asks you if you would like to register your license or use Revu as a free viewer. Input the new serial number and product key and select Register.

Select finish to complete the installation process. You can now use Revu 2019!
