Most screens in Primavera P6 Professional, such as the Activities, Projects, and WBS screens, feature a table that displays specific types of data. The data shown in these tables can be adjusted, sorted, and filtered using the table columns. The columns determine what information displays for the current screen you are in – for example, while in the Activities screen, the Total Float column will display the total float value for each activity in the project.

Primavera P6 features a wide variety of different columns that can be added to the tables. Additionally, you can also adjust the titles of these columns if desired. This can be useful if you are planning to export your project to a spreadsheet, and use different column headers in your spreadsheet template. Let’s say that in my spreadsheet template, I refer to the baseline duration as “Planned Duration”. In P6, the original baseline duration is referred to as Original Duration – in order to match the column headers, I can adjust the Original Duration column title to Planned Duration.
It’s important to note that even though I’ll be adjusting the title of the column, this will not change the information that the column displays. Even if I changed the Original Duration column title to just Duration, the column would still display the original baseline durations for each activity.
To adjust a column title, select View > Columns.

Select the column whose title you want to change – it can be any column from either the Available Options or Selected Options sections.
I’ll select Original Duration.
From the toolbar on the right side of the window, select Edit Column.

In the Edit Column dialog box, you can type in a new title for the column. If desired, you can also choose a new width and alignment for the column, as well.
In the New Title field, I’ll type in Planned Duration.

I’ll press OK to close out of the Edit Column box, and Apply to apply the changes to the activity screen.

The column will automatically display the new title in the table.

If needed, you can restore the default column title by pressing the Default button in the Edit Column window.
