If you are trying to create a PDF Markup Summary and that utilizes hyperlinks to jump to markups on a PDF, and you also want that summary to be appended to the end of the file, ‘Append and Hyperlink to Current PDF’ is a great and easy to use tool. However, sometimes certain settings in Revu disable this option in the PDF markup summary dialogue box. If you’ve encountered this issue, it’s generally an easy fix. Here’s how to re-enable this option. In the examples below I am using the 64x version of Bluebeam Revu 2018 eXtreme edition.

You’ll find the ‘Append and Hyperlink to Current PDF’ setting by first opening up a PDF that is already marked up.

Then open the Markups List by selecting the Markups button in the lower left hand corner.

Now, navigate to the Markup Summary button and select it, which will open a drop down menu. Select ‘PDF Summary.` The PDF Markup Summary dialogue box will open.

I have enabled the setting that grays out the ‘Append and Hyperlink to Current PDF’ to demonstrate how to re-enable it. To re-enable the setting, navigate down to ‘Options’ on the PDF Markups summary, and select it. The PDF Markups Summary options window will open.

The ‘Append and Hyperlink to current PDF’ option should now be enabled and ready for use.

Additionally, if you have ‘Overwrite Existing File’ or ‘Create Multiple Reports Per Space’ checked, the ‘Append and Hyperlink to Current PDF’ will gray out.

It is important to note that the file must first be saved onto your desktop or working area as Bluebeam will not allow you to perform this function in a session. Once you save the file to your desktop, the “APPEND AND HYPERLINK TO CURRENT PDF” will then be enabled.
